I connect to my PC via my smartphone to control it. A couple of times I connected via web version on my work PC, now I have “suspicion of commercial use” and session time is limited to 5 minutes. How to remove the “suspicion” ? I don't need a license for my home PC.

I never used to get this problem. Now I can log in to the remote machine for less than 1 minute and only 1 session every 2 hours.

  • My account has been restored to private use after appeal. Thank you.

However, this has been a horrible experience.

1 / no advance warning that my account was to be disabled. A better CX would be to provide a warning and allow an advance appeal prior to cutoff. This lack of warning meant my octogenarian parent was left without assistance for nearly a week. During this time, they inadvertently reset several passwords causing significant pain. With a working TV, this was avoidable.

2 / no notification that the appeal was approved. I only discovered the service restored via logging in and no longer getting the pop-up banner.

End result - loss of any confidence in TV service. I've really appreciated the years service after moving over from *bleep* but you folks are no longer reliable. I have migrated to an open source product that is not subject to the whims of some automated algorithm. Cya.

  • Hello,

I use Temaviewer 15.60.3 on PC in Free version.

During the last few days, I see popup windows saying that he has detected a commercial use of Teamviewer, and that the session will be interpted after 5 minutes.

I am disapointed, because I don't use Teamviewer for any commercial use, so I am looking forward to contact the good interlocutor able to solve this situation.

Thanking in advance for your help,

    Best regards,

same here, but it stops right after the ID/password is entered

  • Hi Teamviewer team,

I use team viewer only on my personal device to connect to either my father or uncles computers to help them with any issues they have.

Today after I tried to connect to them I got a pop-up stating that I'm using it in a commercial setting and I need to upgrade my license. After 2-5 minutes of use it kicks me off.

Why is this happening and why is team viewer incorrectly stating that Im using it commercially?

I have used teamviewer for years to manage my family's computers. Sometimes I use it to help friends set up new PCs. (not a business, just a friend helping).

I upgraded a PC to a new model, put TV on there and suddenly my profile shows I am a commercial activity. I am not.

I am a 65 year old retired military officer who does not make any income on anything connected to teamviewer.

I have tried several times to use the form to restore my account, but it seems to go ignored.

I am not sure how to prove the negative… e.g. prove something that I am not.

Can anyone give me good advice how to unscrew this? Love Teamviewer but hate this situation.

Got "Warned" for making this post — where I am asking for advice about a remediation system that doesnt work — as proven by 450+ pages about the same issue. Sheesh.

I keep getting this notification that I'm using teamviewer in a commercial setting and its stopping me from using my remote access. I'm not i just use it connect to my home network while im away. I did have my VPN on at one point but even with the VPN off, it still throws up the same message and restricts my access.

Hello, i was originally using TeamViewer well for free.

However, today's session ends suddenly and the connection is limited. The message Commercial Use appears when connecting, and the maximum session period has been reached. I only use it personally, but I don't know why I suddenly get such a message.

  • Hello

Since the new version the session can't spend more 1 minute?

Is the anyone who already have this mistake?

    Thanks a lot

  • I have a free account. Not used very much, privately. I connect and then within 30 seconds or less, I am disconnected and then have to wait a while before trying again. Same thing happens.

I help a friend who is elderly with her PC or android phone problems. She lives in a different town far away from where i live. I cannot help in any other way except to teamviewer. I have used it on and off for many years only with the same person. I am not a business in anyway we are both on disability or retired neither of us can afford the business rates and do not want to try other apps as we are familiar with this one. I appreciate i am getting something for free, which is not ideal but i cannot afford the business fee. Recently i cannot use the program for more than around 30seconds or so, no where near enough to help my friend with the same recurring problems of Bluetooth connectivity, which happens nearly every day. Can you offer any help or advice on why i am being kicked out after such a short period of time. I am registered and have been for a few years. All the best

I sent my 1st request on the 10th and got no reply, so I sent a 2nd one a few days ago. Can I at least get an email stating why I can't use TeamViewer any more? I'm switching to *bleep*. Bye!!!

  • Mine was working again, but I rebooted the pc and now back to the same *bleep*…Guess I will request "reset" again"…

Why isn't my free version working? When I try to log in, I receive a message saying "business use detected," and my account is blocked. I’m only using it on one computer, and yet TeamViewer is classifying it as business use. This is not for business, it's barely used on occasion for personal purposes.

Could someone from the TeamViewer team please look into this and help resolve the issue?

My account was locked again, suggesting I pay for a subscription. This is at least the third time this has occurred. I use TeamViewer only for connecting to my own computers over a LAN. Please unlock it. I filled out the request form about a week ago.

If you know of a similar program that doesn't need to go over the Internet, but goes over my LAN, it would be nice to know. It should be much faster anyway.

Have been using the free version for years helping a relative and within the last month it is now cutting me off after a few minutes telling me I am blocked until ??.?? and can;t re-connect until ??.?? - does this now mean that Teamviewer want money out of me now to upgrade the licence and would this apply to my relative too???

So I have a solution - setup your computers with *bleep*, it's free and is by Google so I feel much safer than a random free tool.

Bye TV, I really wanted to make this work..

I'm the same - I keep getting booted every 5 mins - been helping relatives for 15 plus years with Teamviewer since the beginning of its time and now I'm being asked to upgrade?!?!?! What a con…

I am not using it in a commercial setting as I'm a home user and it now insists I am…

They reset my free license after about a week and multiple reset requests and posts on X about it, everything was fine for maybe 5 days and the my account was flagged again. I sent the request once again but this process needs to be fixed, guess

**Third Party Product** is going to get a lot more users soon.

I have the same issue… earlier (years ago) I wrote support ticket several times.. then it worked for a short time.. then same problem again… maybe I changed the laptop, I don't remember… but I'm using the same Teamviewer account.

Earlier I used it from a machine which was joined to Windows domain. Since it was my work computer, but I never used free Teamviewer for work. I connected only to my family member's or sometimes friends computers.
But this machine is not even connected to a domain. However this is also my work laptop at another company. I'm too lazy to use multiple laptops, and it is not forbidden to use for private purposes.
Fun fact: today the only way I was able to connect to the computer of my dad's brother to install teamviewer to a work virtial server, which is running on domain joined Windows Server on VMware… And it worked… So this business detection is crazy.. I don't understand why is it detecting business usage in some cases, and not in more "business like" scenarios.

And I'm not using Teamviewer too much… I don't know exactly, but I'm almost sure that it was less than 10 times in the last 1 year…

That was a litte pain in the **bleep**. It was finicky to install on my 3. It works…Like TV Better. We shall see. Thanks.

PS, I don't think they care…Less traffic on their network…

Same problem here. I did not stopped the time, but all the last uses the connection stopped after a few minutes. After that it's also not possible to reconnect because this is blocked by TeamViewer für about 15 minutes.

Same here, it's a cash grab. Shame, I actually liked using TeamViewer for the last 15 years. What a con to not even let you contact anyone to ask for assistance too. This support forum is great but it's not like you're ever going to get anything looked at from here….

I tried to help a friend and TeamViewer told me I have to buy a license to do so, I was using the free version, now I can't use it anymore, so I guess I will have to uninstall it.

Since a few weeks, Team Viewer gives me always a "commercial use - connection time out". I am logged in into the same network, the same IP, just for maintance my printer.

Is there any way to stop this nonsense, or have I go to **Third Party Product**?
