Any of you have an answer to my question please ?, thanks. Francesco Schino
I was finally able to locate a stand-alone installer package for TeamViewer 14.2.56680 for Win XP, and now have it installed and running on two of the three machines. However, when I attempt to connect in either direction - 14 to 15, or 15 to 14 - the same error message - "... TeamViewer is running an old version which is out of date...." - appears; and then when I check for updates from within the program, this message continues to pop up: "An error occurred while updating TeamViewer. Please check log file for more information."
All three of the XP machines do remain visible in the online Management Console.
Suggestions?
Thank you and best regards,
MarkT_a1b
Hi @Metrolinegc,
Welcome to the TeamViewer Community!
Windows XP SP3 is listed as a legacy version, meaning it is no longer supported by TeamViewer. You can find more details in our Knowledge Base article and Community announcement.
Hope this helps!
Best,
Chisa
Will Team Viewer work on the XP operating system
Hello @xuezhe8976,
Thank you for visiting the Community and sharing your use case!
We would like to share this announcement - Sunsetting active servicing of operating systems (XP, Vista, Server 2003 and 2008) which published back in 2019, and confirm with you that TeamViewer is no longer actively servicing Windows XP.
We generally recommend to only run current operating systems and software versions. Please make sure to update to the most recent version of Windows and TeamViewer.
We appreciate your understanding, support and cooperation!

XP embdded need to use 14.2 version for linking, but i install the version, teamviewer told me " can not find sysocmgr.exe ",so the system can not link to the update server. now i use other newest version link to the xp, it says the computer use an old version. i cant use it! And i use the quicksupport(15、14) ,it told me "invalid opcode".
Hi @SaucyKnave, Thanks for reaching out to our community!
According to our article Supported operating systems for TeamViewer, you would need to install TeamViewer version 11–14.2 on your Windows XP - the newest version wouldn't be compatible with it.
Please keep in mind that, with a license, you can use the newest TeamViewer Remote to connect to any older version; however, the older version only connects with their same version or a version below.
Does the Windows XP device only receive connections? Or do you need to start connections from this device too? If it only receives connections you can use v 11–14.2 on the Windows XP, and the newest version on your laptop.
You should be able to install v13 on Windows XP from our website or contact our support team via ticket to request a v14.2.
Let us know how it goes and if you need further help. Best, Carol
This is either not working or there's confusion about what's being asked.
In my case, I have a Davi roller on our shop floor with a Windows XP Embedded system connected as a "controller". We need support for the Windows XP Embedded system and Davi tells us to update TeamViewer to enable them to connect. I have a current Business license for TeamViewer, so I'm at the latest version on my laptop. What version should I be downloading and installing onto the Windows XP Embedded system? 14.7 is what the TeamViewer website gives me when I choose the version 14 button, but that throws a version error when I try to install it onto the WinXP Embedded system.
I am having the same problem.
I need to support my uncle on Windows XP, TeamViewer version 14.2.56680
The earliest version I can find online is version 14.2.8352.
I get the error messages that the target TeamViewer version is too old.
When my uncle tries to update version he gets an error message
"An error occured while updating TeamViewer, please check log file for more information"
Yesterday I posted a detailed follow-up to the above Subject thread, received an e-mail message confirming it (an elevating my supposed status as a poster), but overnight it has completely disappeared. Hmmmm. I am beginning to wonder if there's some kind of surreptitious censorship going on here. In any event, here is a close reconstruction of my fifth (most recent) posting:
In trouble-shooting my several TeamViewer installations, under two MS operating systems, I happened across the following item:
To use TeamViewer with your current operating system, please read the following instruction:

Sunsetting active servicing of operating systems (XP, Vista, Server 2003 and 2008)

Dear Community members,
We would like to announce that as of April 2019, TeamViewer will no longer be actively servicing Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 operating systems.
After Microsoft ended their official mainstream support for Windows Vista in 2012 and Windows XP in 2014, TeamViewer will stop the active servicing of those operating systems after additional 7 and 5 years respectively.
Stopping the active servicing of an operating system means that no updates or fixes which are specific to these operating systems will be implemented.
What does this mean if you are running Windows XP, Vista, Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008 as an operating system?
You can continue using the last supported version of TeamViewer – version 14.2 – on these operating systems. But please be aware that outgoing connections from TeamViewer can only connect to a remote device running the same or lower version of TeamViewer. This means you won’t be able to connect from Windows XP/Vista/2003/2008 to a remote computer running TeamViewer 15, for example. However, incoming connections to XP/Vista/2003/2008 from a remote computer with a higher version of TeamViewer are always possible.... [snip]
-------------------
I am finding the above information ("edited June 2021") to be false. No matter which combination of TeamViewer 12, 13, 14 or 15 that I try, in either direction, some combination or permutation of the following error message is always returned: "... TeamViewer is running an old version which is out of date...."; or "Your partner uses a newer version of TeamViewer...." The only combination I find that works is version 15 to and from version 15. (I also tried using Team Viewer 14.7.13736, also to no avail.) All client machines are assigned to the same IP subnet.
What am I missing here?
Thank you and best regards, MarkT
Thank you for verifying that, Ying_Q -*most* appreciated! Here are the details: I have three legacy XP SP3 PeeCees running outdated releases of Version 13 of TeamViewer, and when I attempt to connect to one that is set up for and awaiting Remote Access (from the latest version of TeamViewer), the following error message is returned:
The remote TeamViewer is running an old version which is out of date....
From the XP machine, attempting to connect to the current version of TeamViewer:
Your partner uses a newer version of TeamViewer. Would you like to update TeamViewer now to establish a connection?
Answer: Yes.
An error occurred while updating TeamViewer. Please check log file for more information.
Log file: UpdateBase::OnDownloadFinishedVersionFile() failed - CInetDownload::ThreadRun - ErrorSendRequest 12175, Errorcode=12175
Then, using either of the "latest and greatest" (cough!) versions of Firefox or Chrome to verify log-in to the TeamViewer Web site from the XP PeeCee, the URL provided in the TeamViewer "Access" e-mail message returns:
The URL you provided is malformed. Please contact the support about that.
Error Code: mWdnf4TiQ6T-3--38-a8H
------------
Apparently, the last XP versions of Firefox and Chrome are not compatible with the TeamViewer Web site. Accordingly, is there a stand-alone XP-compatible installer package that I can download from a newer Web browser program, and then copy over to the XP machine for installation there?
Hi @markt_a1b,
We would like to confirm with you that TeamViewer v13 works with Windows XP SP3.
Also if you are connecting from the latest version of TeamViewer like v15.26.4 to TeamViewer v13, it will work fine as TeamViewer is backwards compatible.
If you do experience any connectivity issue, feel free to comment below for further assistance please.
Have a nice day!
Warm regards,
I have Teamviewer 13 installed under XP SP3, but have not needed to connect to this device for a while. Am I still connect and control it remotely from a current Teamviewer installation?
Hello @francescoschino,
I had this conversation with another user.
Please check it out here:
Let me know if you have any questions... 😊
All the best,
JeanK
Thanks Esther for your prompt reply. I will give it a try and let you know.
Mihai.
HI Mihai,
The download should recognize your XP and give you the correct version automatically. At least this is what we planned as far as I know 💡
Would you be willing to give it a try and download TeamViewer 14.7 and see whether you get 14.2? https://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/previous-versions/
Thanks, Esther
Where I can find the download link for the TeamViewer v 14.2 Host for Windows Xp? Could you maybe please provide me with a download link? I checked in the previous version section and only the 14.7 version is available.
Thank you,
