Where to find Addon ASUS Firmware G ?

Hi community,

I have an (excellent) old tablet ASUS ZenPad P01M (running Android v6). It still works like a charm (amazing picture and battery life), and I would like to test the unattended remote control by TeamViewer.

Apparently this is supported as TeamViewer Host KB says :

For the TeamViewer Host app Android, 5.1 or later is required.

So I installed TeamViewer Host, and when started, I got a message (see attached screen capture) confirming that remote control is supported on this device (great !) , and that I may ask TeamViewer for support.

If I click on "Contact", the URL is :

https://www.teamviewer.com/fr/global/support/customer-support/?qsaddon=Asus+G

… but the displayed page does not lead me to any Asus AddOn G information.
I can just see the generic support website. I'm in the free plan version, so no ticket/support is offered by Customer Support. Seems to be a dead end.

Anyway, I've closed the popup, entered my credentials and tried to establish a connection from my TeamViewer PC.

  • I can see the device listed and available .
  • When I start a connection, from the PC, the Android Host shows a kind of "System Interface stopped" popup. My android destop reboots (not a full system reboot , just the display) and I'm back to normal rapidly.
  • After that, TeamViewer PC can display the Dashboard informations :)
  • FileTransfer works , both ways (Remote Host → PC and PC → Remote Host)
  • BUT I still can't see (nor control) the remote host screen.

I've opened the settings of the Host app, and captured the log file. We can read several information, saying that an addon asusg is required and my be revoked.

A curl command on this URL leads to no file :

curl -O com.teamviewer.quicksupport.addon.asusg
curl: Remote filename has no length

I've manually searched on the KB information about any AddOn available as per today. No vendor-specific addon can be found. I can only find :

Please keep in mind that the Universal Add-On is not available for the Host.

which by the way seems in contradiction with :

If the remote control is not working for your device, feel free to try our Universal add-on on your device. In some cases, it will fix the issue and allow you to remote control your Android device.

I wanted to have a try : Using my computer, I could find the UniversalAddon, but Google also says it's not compatible with my (old) tablet. Which is correct as "

The Universal add-on is only available for devices running the TeamViewer QuickSupport and Android 7 (or newer).

… and I'm running Android 6.

Searching on Google Play store from my tablet, I can only find the "MobileBase Addon". Name is similar but different. The developper comment says "Please do not download this app by itself. On supported devices, this add-on will be available through other apps automatically" . Still, I tried, but the installation did not solve my issue. So I removed it.

I'm now stucked.

→ It seems that I miss a proper Asus Addon (specific to Asus Firmware G ?). Do you confirm ?

→ Can someone help and point me to a valid URL where to load this AddOn ?
Is this one safe ?

Many thanks to anyone able to help.
