I would like to report a regression introduced with the December update of TeamViewer QuickSupport and Host for Android.
Issue description
Until the November version, remote control worked correctly on Motorola devices using QuickSupport together with the Universal Add-on.
After updating QuickSupport in December:
- Remote control no longer works (screen sharing only, no input control)
- QuickSupport and Host no longer prompts to install or activate the Universal Add-on
- The Universal Add-on is not detected or requested automatically
- The issue occurs consistently on Motorola devices
Key point
This is not a device limitation nor a permission issue.
Installing a previous QuickSupport APK immediately restores full remote control functionality.
This clearly indicates a regression introduced in the recent update.
Environment
- Device: Motorola (multiple models tested)
- OS: Android (issue reproducible across different versions)
- App: TeamViewer QuickSupport - TeamViewer Host (December update)
- Last known working version: pre-December release
Steps to reproduce
- Install latest QuickSupport from Play Store
- Start a remote support session
- Remote control is not enabled and Universal Add-on is not requested
- Downgrade QuickSupport to a pre-December version
- Remote control works again as expected
