Recent Connections - Connect hyperlink bug - Click multiple times to connect

There's a bug in recent TeamViewer versions. I am currently on 15.75.4, and the bug persists.

In the Recent Connections page, when I hover over a row, in the space before the "TEAMVIEWER ID" column, TeamViewer shows a hyperlink to Connect.

However, in recent versions, I have to click the Connect hyperlink multiple times, before it starts connecting.

Can this bug be sent to the devs, and fixed? It is becoming increasingly frustrating.

Thanks for sharing more details!

I tested the behavior again using the exact steps you described. On my side, the connection still starts with a single click, and I couldn't reproduce the checkbox selection or a longer delay. A short moment until the connection is initiated is expected, but it should not require multiple clicks.

Even though we can't reproduce it right now, I’ll forward your feedback internally so our teams can review it more closely.

As an alternative, you can initiate connections using the device dock, which provides quick access via a double-click on the required device. The video below shows how to enable the device dock, change to status view, and start a connection:

Hi Sophia,

I re-tested again, and I think the problematic behavior I'm seeing on Recent Connections, on a fresh Exit and re-launch, is:

Clicking Connect on the PC's row for the first time, does not Connect. Instead it checks the checkbox. It should connect immediately. I consider this as a bug.
For subsequent clicks (ie: Click Connect on a row for the first time, and click it many times)… There is some sort of timeout (like 3-6 seconds) before a click will result in "Connecting…". There should not be a timeout. It should connect immediately. I consider this as an additional bug.

Are you able to replicate both bugs? It would improve my workflow quite a bit, if both bugs were fixed! That's why I reported them!

If you'd like to get together, so I can help you to reproduce it, let me know how and when, and I'll gladly help. :) Looking for the repro, because looking for the fix! :)

Thanks a lot for the follow-up and for sharing the exact steps @JacobKlein.

I followed your instructions and re-tested to establish a connection from Recent connections:

Made sure to have a full list of Recent connections,
Exited TeamViewer completely and launched it again,
Navigated to Recent connections,
Hovered over an entry (not in the center as they were showing offline) and clicked Connect

Even with this setup, I still couldn't reproduce the behavior. The Connect action triggered immediately after a single click, and the connection started as expected:

One thing you can try on your side is to click once in the white space within the Recent connections view before hovering over a device and clicking Connect. In some cases, this resets the UI focus.

Since the issue continues to appear for you but isn’t reproducible on our side, any additional details you can share (OS version, display scaling, window size, etc.) would be helpful. We're happy to take a closer look together.

Can you please re-test it using the "Recent Connections" page (instead of a device group)?
Also, can you make sure the the "Recent Connections" page has several entries on it (in case that is required to reproduce the bug)?
Also, it seems that the issue gets mitigated by connecting to a device, so, please exit TeamViewer and launch it again, to hopefully see the bug.

Steps are:
- Fill the "Recent Connections" page with several recent connections (like 10, which is full, since it lists 10)
- Exit TeamViewer entirely (to reset the mitigation where a previous connection masks the problem)
- Launch TeamViewer
- Navigate to "Recent Connections"
- Hover over an item in the middle of the list (like row 5), click Connect, see what happens.

We tested the behavior on our end with TeamViewer version 15.75.4 and were unable to reproduce the issue. The Connect button reacts to a single click, after which the connection starts shortly afterward, as shown below:

Make sure to give it a moment to initiate the connection.
