<p><br></p><p>TeamViewer adds a repository to the operating system during installation. Updates will automatically be available and installed together with system updates.</p><p>No further actions are required besides installing the available updates when prompted by your system.</p><div class="blockquote"><div class="blockquote-content"><p class="blockquote-line"><em>This article applies to TeamViewer users on Linux.</em></p></div></div><p><br></p><h3></h3><h2 data-id="configuration">Configuration</h2><p>TeamViewer provides some configuration commands to adapt to specific needs. Run <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false" tabindex="0">teamviewer help</code> for an overview.</p><p>The <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false" tabindex="0">teamviewer repo *</code> commands allow disabling of the repository, pinning to a specific major version, or excluding beta releases. Available revisions can also be seen from the repository.</p><p><strong>📌Note</strong>: These commands are currently not available for the RPM repository.</p><p> </p><h3 data-id="-1"></h3><h2 data-id="technical-background">Technical background</h2><p>TeamViewer adds the file </p><ul><li><code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false" tabindex="0">/etc/apt/sources.list.d/teamviewer.list</code> (DEB),</li><li><code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false" tabindex="0">/etc/yum.repos.d/teamviewer.repo</code> (RPM) or </li><li><code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false" tabindex="0">/etc/zypp/repos.d/teamviewer.repo</code> (Suse RPM) </li></ul><p>to your system during installation, which contains information about the repository.</p><p><strong>📌Note</strong>: It is not recommended to alter the repository file manually.</p><p> </p><p>TeamViewer also adds the <strong>signature key</strong> of the repository to your system, so that the repository is trusted:</p><ul><li><strong>On RPM systems:</strong> The key is retrieved automatically</li><li><strong>On DEB systems:</strong> add the key by running <code class="code codeInline" spellcheck="false" tabindex="0">/usr/share/keyrings/teamviewer-keyring.gpg</code></li></ul><p> </p><h3 data-id="-2"></h3><h2 data-id="related-topics">Related topics</h2><div class="js-embed embedResponsive" data-embedjson="{"body":"This article applies to Linux users in all licenses.
